However, PCR technologies are not only applicable in the medical field, but also in industrial areas such as food safety or biotechnology. At Fraunhofer IMM, we are pioneering the development of PCR technologies for point-of-care applications that are versatile, fully automated and can be used at the point of need. Our mission is to develop a compact, fast and cost-effective system that enables the rapid and fully automated detection of pathogens and contaminants at the point of need.
